Sturla Eide is one of the foremost performers of Norwegian folk music and mainly focuses on music from his close counties Trøndelag. He plays fiddle, viola and Hardanger fiddle. Since 1998 he has worked as a full-time musician, both as a teacher and on concert tours in Norway and abroad.
